Summary

The crew heads over to Georgetown in Washington, DC where Carl claims ownership of two of The Exorcist steps. As they contemplate the site, they know demonic activity can be a controversial subject for Christians. Among them two different kinds of people stand out: the deniers and the enthusiasts.Do demons still exist? If so, is it common to see them possessing people? What can we affirm from Scripture about demonic activity at the present time? Todd probably has had some experience with it!It’s important to consider how we relate to the supernatural. To understand how much power and influence demons can really have over people, and how principalities and powers can act differently from place to place. I dare you to join this conversation. We’re giving away copies of Spiritual Warfare: A Biblical and Balanced Perspective by Borgman and Ventura. The copies are a courtesy of Reformation Heritage Books.Show Notes- “The Exorcist” Steps- Bad spiritual warfare theology

Questions, thoughtful, good questions from laypersons about my thoughts on demon possession and should we be afraid of

1:35.0

demons, how active is Satan in our world? It's a subject that causes oftentimes a lot of Christians

1:40.6

to blush because we know that any time we bring up the subject of demons or Satan,

1:45.0

we're going to be kind of looked down upon or mocked by our cultured despisers, you know,

1:50.8

and we suddenly almost defer back to a kind of Boltmanian skepticism where, you know,

1:56.2

how can we expect people to believe these things in the age of the electric light bulb?

2:00.3

But the fact is

2:01.2

Christianity is a supernatural religion. We believe in a supernatural world. And we believe that

2:07.3

there is this being referred to as Satan. We believe that there are such beings as demons.

2:13.9

And so I thought we would address a couple of things related to that. Questions like, how do we respond to skeptics?

2:20.6

Talk about a couple specific passages in particular.
