0:13.0	Hi, Dr. Laura. Thank you so much for taking my call. I have learned so much from you over the years and I really appreciate the feedback you've given me during my last call.
0:23.0	So I'm hoping you might be able to give me some insight today. I'm calling because I feel very unsupported and misunderstood by my mother with regards to a chronic illness that I've been dealing with since I was 13.
0:38.0	I have an or how would she be behaving differently if she supported you and understood something that's been going on for decades.
0:48.0	She lived seven minutes away from me and she hasn't visited me at home since I've just gotten out of the hospital. I've moved in the hospital for a month with a very serious fine infection and needed three emergency surgeries back to back and it's now been weeks and I haven't seen her and she doesn't call and check on me.
1:08.0	And when I finally talked to her today, she was asking me specifically what's the end game when it's going to be over, when are you not going to need any medication, when are you going back to work.
1:19.0	And I'd rather her asked questions like how are you feeling? How is your recovery going?
1:24.0	Yes, but when you were getting when you were getting fertilized, you pick the wrong mother. That's not her.
1:33.0	That's right. You've heard you can't squeeze blood out of a turnip or something like that.
1:40.0	Yes.
1:43.0	That's not the mother you got.
1:47.0	Of course you'd rather have that, but that's not the woman who gave birth to you.
1:53.0	That's not who she is.
2:03.0	Sorry.
2:08.0	Is there a better way or more effective way that I can communicate my health situation to her?
2:14.0	Are you not hearing me?
2:18.0	That's not the mother you have. This is not a priority for her.
2:23.0	This is a bit of an annoyance. She's tired of it already, which is why she's asking you about the end point of it.
2:32.0	She's tired of it. She doesn't want to deal with it. It's not a matter of not understanding it or not understanding what you need.
2:40.0	That's not how she works. She's tired of it.
