Hi, Dr. Laura. Hi. I'm calling with the dilemma about my mom. She's so I'm 21 years old. I have asked burgers.

And for many years of my life, my mom has not treated me fairly fairly what would fair how would fairly be different.

Well, for instance, she was never. She was never talking to me nicely. She would always yell at me and swear at me.

She was complaining about how I looked in front of people and also she would make comments that weren't necessary, such as.

I have a family friend. And for instance, one night she made a comment saying that I love to see my parents fight with each other, which is not true.

And that I get really excited when they fight.

I have you had the opportunity at any time to talk to some other family members and grandparents who ever.

Dad, who point out that she has some mental. I didn't finish my question. I don't know how you could answer it. Are you psychic?

No. Okay. Then hear my question out. Have you had the opportunity to talk or be talked to from anyone in the family.

Anyone male, female, three generations back to point out that she has a mental problem.

Yes, I have.

Well, then when you talk to me about this nasty thing she's done, you have to understand she was mentally disturbed.

So taking it personally for the rest of your life doesn't make sense. At some point you have to stand back and say to yourself, this it wasn't about me.

This is her mental problem. Since you've been told that I need you to stop going over all the nasty things she's done because we need you to be understanding.

I'm on saying you have asked burgers. Well, you also know that your mother's mentally ill. You didn't mention that.

Right. And I agree she is. And I think she hasn't had anyone to tell that she is mentally ill.

And maybe she's afraid of letting people know that she is mentally ill because she might be looked at as a strange person.

You know that you have that wrong. Madam, you have that wrong also.

Anybody can listen to her and know she's mentally ill. And I assume people do treat her differently because some people are probably a little bit scared of her and they don't want to deal with it.
