Thanks for listening to my call of the day podcast. You can hear my live radio program Monday through Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. Eastern time on serious XM triumph 11.

0:11.0

Welcome to the program. Good afternoon and thank you very very much for taking my call. I'm at a quandary kind of thing with my mother.

0:21.0

She is the same age as you still smarter to tack just like you. She works a full time job, but she calls me every day of the week sometimes multiple times during the day when I'm trying to work.

0:35.0

And by the way, I do work for law enforcement that she just bugs the crap out of me about wanting to quit work.

0:42.0

And she can't because of all the bills that she has and no matter how many times I tell her that she still cannot get it through her head that she can't do that.

0:53.0

And I have nobody else to take care of her because both of my siblings are out of the picture due to their own lifestyle with her.

1:03.0

And in other words, they made the choice that you're scared to make.

1:10.0

I don't want to block her because she's a widow. Honey, honey, if you don't want to make this stop, then it doesn't stop. That's it.

1:20.0

You can't say I want this to stop, but I'm not going to do anything to make it stop.

1:26.0

I mean, you can't do that. You can only tell her, I don't want calls every day with you complaining about work. I have work.

1:35.0

I could complain about work every day to you. I don't. This is not a good relationship that we're having. It's only based on you complaining.

1:43.0

I can't do this anymore. So when you call, we have to talk like a mother and daughter about things without you just complaining.

1:51.0

Or we can't talk. Now, if you can't be a grown-up, crystal and say this, then she will torture you for the rest of your life and your siblings are laughing.

2:03.0

Yeah, that's pretty much what she's doing now.

2:08.0

Well, because you're being a whimp.

2:14.0

Okay, not standing up for yourself at all.

2:21.0

And if I stand up for myself and call her and say, the world will come to an end and you will be the most hideous person ever to have been created.

2:31.0

Right? Right.

2:37.0

I'm not really silly. If I called you as a friend, you'd never say something that silly to me.

2:44.0

No, I've had several people that I've talked to. My closest girlfriends, I treat as sisters, had told me to stand up to her and say, enough already.

2:53.0

Well, ma'am, have a good day.

2:59.0

In fact, stop complaining to your friends about this because you're doing the same thing your mother does.
