I'm probably the most basic problem you've probably dealt with before, but I have twin daughters 14 and every time we try to discuss anything, whether it's just a drama situation school or time management homework.

It doesn't sound like they're interested. They roll their eyes. They say I don't want another lecture. When in fact, I'm just trying to guide them. It's very frustrating.

It doesn't, you know, I know you're trying to guide them, but from their point of view, it's a lecture. Right.

Do you know anything about the secratic method?

Actually, I was. Socrates had a method of just questions until the person came to their own conclusion. Just like you, Henry, sometimes going, is there what is the benefit of picking your nose in the middle of traffic?

It's there and they go, well, not sure the risk.

Okay, then what would be the point of continuing to do lectures turn kids off. They don't want you to give them the playbook.

They want you to hear them. Okay.

And ask questions. You'll get a lot better response from them and have a much better experience with them. If you spend most of it asking questions.

Wow. Okay.

So when your homework isn't ready and you go to school, what's that like? Are you embarrassed or what? What happens?

You know, so you're guiding them, but they're doing the work. I like it. You're right. I'm pulling it out of them instead of trying to push it in.

No, we don't want to push it into them. We want. No, we really want to pull it out of them. Right.

Exactly what we want. You want to push it into them. We want them to see it. Okay. We want to guide them so they go, oh, they wow.

Well, if you're not Jewish, they're probably not going away, but wow.

So in the case where is an obvious, you know, go back to your teacher, go back to your coach, talk to them about it. No, I would never go back. I can't talk to them.

Then let them sing for good. Then you say, well, then what's the alternative?

Right. And then where does that get you?

Okay. Well, what do you want? If they choose to stop all the questions, you're going to ask me and throw them in the toilet and flush it.

Okay.
