In a broken world, stories with humor, heart or hope are a nice change of pace.

There are some things money can't buy.

It's newsish on the Wally

show. John Phillips is a California judge and by the year 2000 he was

devastated at the amount of minors convicted of horrible crimes coming through his

court. And so he decided he was going to do something about it. Instead of sending

them to jail where they could just learn to be a better criminal.

He wanted to do something different.

That's when he took an old local juvenile detention center and he turned it into Rancho

Cillo.

So it's a private school that takes in kids who are considered the worst of the worst or just in a bad situation.

So these are kids in county jails, juvenile detention centers, homeless shelters, and foster homes, and

they give them the opportunity to change their life path.

So he provides for them basic school subjects like math and science.

And he also makes it where like if they've got some learning disabilities,
