Hi, Dr. Laura, thanks for listening to me.

My pleasure.

So, thank you. My husband and I have three adult children and they will all be home for

Christmas this year. My two oldest daughters are married. They're both in their 20s and our son is in his early 20s and for the first time in a couple of years we'll all be together for Christmas.

And my daughters brought to my attention that he

texted them recently and asked them if they would bring money because he won't be able to be paying for everything

that we do together.

He may be able to pay for some things but not others because

this year we've had a lot of the reason why he may have said that is because this year

we've had a lot of expenses are house flooded and I've had some medical emergencies and going to have a couple of

surgeries and so the remodel of the house the medical expenses one of our

darn got married you know so there's been several expenses this year.

However, I know for a fact that we're not broke, that so there's no point for him to say that to his daughters is what I'm thinking.

And so what I wanted to ask you is, do I ask him about it? How do I do it so that it doesn't become a big problem?

I think it's a sweet thing for them to come and help pay for the entertainment you all have.

Going out, the food, I think it's a real family thing to do.

You guys have suffered a lot of, you've suffered a lot with all the surgeries.

I think it's a lovely thing that the family do that for Christmas instead of gifts as a matter of fact. fact. Oh, okay, instead of gifts, that's a great idea.

Okay, and that's a great idea. Okay, and that's a great idea. I love that.

My only concern here is that this has become a pattern with him to say that he doesn't have money when we indeed have money.
