While relating this story to my girlfriend of three months, she opened the timer on her phone and said, you have five minutes and started the timer.

Honestly, that's a long time to tell the story. That is. That's a tight, I mean, that's a tight five. Yeah, you could probably tell it in like one minute. Should we do this for you? You told it to us. Five minutes that you are going to tell a story of you going to the hospital essentially, right? Or there was an Amberlamps called? Amberlints. I was a bit stunned and lost for words in the moment, so I made some lame joke and laughed it off. But it's really bothering me that she was so dismissive.

Any tips on setting a boundary in a healthy way?

My gut reaction is that this is indefensible.
