times before. I grew up listening to Raid music, just listening to it, that early 90s stuff.

But it was Hixie's Mix on Bonkers One, specifically that inspired me to get into DJing myself.

So it was around 1996.

I saved up my paper arm money and I bought a £30 record player, not a fancy deck or anything, a record player like your grandma might have had.

And then I used my additional paper arm money and pocket money to buy records each week before I could afford to have any proper equipment.
