Welcome to Home of the Brave. I'm Scott Carrier. I'm going to say this is the two-year anniversary of Home of the Brave.

Technically, it was a couple of weeks ago, but I was suffering about a Trump fluenza,

existential tremors, morbidity convulsions, and I forgot about the anniversary.

So to mark the occasion, the two-year anniversary of this show I'm going to play my first radio story.

But before I do that I'd like to say thanks to all of you because without your support

absolutely none of this would have been possible.

I've had the freedom to do and say what I want, which is a rare privilege for sure.

I just wish I was smarter and younger.

I wish I could dance.

Sometimes I worry I'm not doing enough that I'm missing the point.

Maybe I shouldn't be taking a nap.

But then I also feel pretty good sometimes, like I'm learning

things I never expected and I'm able to travel around and meet people who changed the way I

think and see things.

Last week, for example, I was invited to speak to some radio producers in British Columbia,

students at Frazier Valley University, and also the guys who produce a documentary

podcast called CITED which is a very good show and it was inspiring for me to be

around young people who are hungry

chomping at the bit to produce good radio stories.

My point is, things are actually pretty good for me these days and I owe this to you, my audience.

There are a lot of podcasts out there, a lot of good ones, but I think I have the best listeners.

Far from the most listeners, just the best ones.
