So before I was on Wednesday, I guess we said, you know, we're not going to talk about Colin Kaepernick because we've had enough talking about Colin Kaepernick. Everybody has talked it to death positives and negatives.

Clay made the argument on Wednesday show before he left the country that the Colin Kaepernick argument has become the abortion argument where you're not changing anyone's minds anymore.

You're just basically speaking to your side of the aisle. This is the MSNBC versus Fox News. This is the polarize versus the polarize the extreme versus the extreme.

And we talked a good bit about it yesterday because Colin Kaepernick again was in the news because the Baltimore Ravens are idiots.

And because Colin Kaepernick's girlfriend decided she wanted to do something idiotic in terms of making it easier for him to get a job in the NFL.

So we didn't think we're going to be talking about that again today. You know, there was football that was played last night that didn't count 20 to 18 when I don't, you know, I honestly I watched about five seconds of this game and then I watched the highlights because I didn't really feel the need to sit there for three hours.

Now Tony Romo had been in the booth. I probably would have watched because I would have cared to see how he had done. And he was doing a test run, but you actually were not hearing it and apparently him and Jim Nance were hanging out in the deer stand all night.

So the big news yesterday was Ryan Tanahill going down in non-contact and as this kind of stuff happens, ESPN dot com writes the good news, a non-contact injury during practice Thursday led to an MRI on Tanahill's left knee that did not show any full tears that would necessitate surgery.

The bad news, the results did show a setback even if the extent is debatable. Now that was in the afternoon, then a little bit later last night, the Miami dolphins now fear quarterback Ryan Tanahill will need season ending knee surgery. However, no decision to have it has been made at this time according to sources close to the situation.

There could be other opinions coming through. Tanahill has a chance he could rest his knee for six to eight weeks and potentially attempt to return from this injury.

But the dolphins according to Adam Schefter and a number of other NFL sources growing increasingly concerned surgery is the most viable and likely option and his season could be over.

So guess what that leads us to. It should lead us to Jay Cutler. Honestly, and Jay Cutler's name was mentioned yesterday as well that he would delay his debut in the broadcast booth, but only if he was given a chance to potentially become the starter.

But he has history with Adam Gase really enjoyed working with Gase a few seasons ago in Chicago was kind of a resurgent year in many respects. So there is some sense here and Gase actually has some ties to Colin Kaepernick as well.

But if Tanahill is out for this long, the question is is Matt more good enough and Matt more according to some stats is the second best backup quarterback in the league behind only Jimmy Garoppolo in New England.

But Matt more was a two and two quarterback for you last year when he filled in for Tanahill who was injured there down the stretch of the season.

But is he good enough. I think the question maybe should be doesn't matter if he's good enough or not because you're not beating New England anyway is Matt more good enough to get you a wild card spot. That's the question you need to be asking yourself because the dolphins are not going to win the AFC East. Let's be real here.
