So I used a little play on words in my introduction for today's episode of In the Bullpen.

By we and us, I was referring to baseball fans in general, but also to my family.

In last week's episode, we looked back to the All-Star game and we looked forward to the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies,

the weekend culminating yesterday with five new members being inducted.

However, when I spoke last Monday, I knew what was coming up the next day for the Dewey family.

I knew we were going to make a trip to Pittsburgh

to watch a team I played for, the Pirates, host the team I've been a lifelong fan of,

the Detroit Tigers. And I knew that Paul Skeens pitched Monday night, so we would not see him,
