0:15.9	I wanted to ask you about basically it's a problem I've been having.
0:23.7	Probably over 20 years, sorry, I'm going to try to talk normal.
0:28.9	But it has to do with the relationship with my dad.
0:33.4	Some of my parents got divorced about a little over 20 years ago.
0:37.1	He remarried and you know in my mind started a new family, although he didn't have bio kids
0:45.9	with a new wife. But the problem currently is you know when I talk to him, well in the past 20
0:55.4	or so years maybe I see him once or twice a year.
0:59.6	His wife comes along which I feel like she has seemed to alienate him from me and my other two
1:09.0	sisters and I'm just calling about myself. But you know if I see him, she's with him, she'll
1:15.2	start a scene. They have to leave early. If I see him and she's not with him, he's always
1:21.9	in a rush to get back home and she's calling him nonstop, early hour, checking up on him.
1:27.2	Do you know what I've noticed in over four decades of doing this program?
1:32.2	I've noticed that most people
1:38.0	raise the level of a parent to almost divinity and have the hardest time understanding
1:48.0	when a parent is flawed. And they keep trying to fight it when the parent is flawed.
1:58.1	They have the expectation that there must be something they could say or do
2:03.1	which would recreate the fantasy of divinity, perfection. Instead we're all left
2:13.4	as our children are with a reality that simply because he or she is a parent doesn't make them
