And then of course there are two really important guests today, who are Pete and Desire from Hungary today.

But before we get started without panel, let me give you a short introduction

to what we are actually talking about today. I think it is correct to say that the night

of the 10th November has fundamentally changed people's everyday lives in Hungary. In addition

to extending the emergency decrease of the government until the 8th of February 2021, three new bills were submitted to the

Parliament overnight. One could really call this some kind of cloak and dagger operation.

The Hungarian government has done that. As Hungary at the moment has been hit badly by the second

wave, there's a lot of European countries as well. Second wave of coronavirus with

almost 4,000 new infections per day in a country of 10 million people. You might think that the

objective of these new bills is to support the healthcare system and the people in Hungary in such

uncertain times. But no, rather not really surprising at all, thinking back to the Hungarian government's

politics in the past months, these bills are actually far-reaching. They not only humiliate,

but also curtail the rights of LGBTI communities and undermine the states' transparency and

freedom of information and actively attack the notion of democracy.
