Welcome to episode 87 of real cool history for kids.

This is a special episode and it is for my friend, Mr. Al Huff, who wanted to tell me the

story of his time in the American Army towards the end of World War II.

You are all in for such a great treat today.

I recently had the privilege of sitting down with a wonderful elderly gentleman friend, Mr.

Al Huff.

Mr. Huff is 95 years old this year and in this interview he tells us the story of what

it was like to be stationed in Germany at the end of the war.

This time period was when the Allied forces were trying to figure out how to bring a diplomatic

close to the awful war that had caused so much global destruction.

Mr. Huff also talks about his life as a young man before and after his time in the war.

I want you to remember that his fond memories of his family life when he was a child were

during the late 1920s and the 1930s.

These were the years of the Great Depression.

Mr. Huff also gives some insight and wisdom to the children and young people of this current

generation.

I enjoyed sitting in the dining room of Mr. Huff's farmhouse, discussing his life and

the world.

We sipped coffee and connected through the stories of history.
