Kooldorf is a biostatistician and epidemiologist and until very recently a professor at Harvard University

medical school of medicine Martin how you doing I'm doing good how are you

nice talking to you likewise likewise I know that you are one of the three

co-authors of the great Barrington Declaration. Maybe you can start us off with that and then we could talk about your Harvard debacle and we can also talk about the fact that we're both

Cornelians so go ahead take it away.

Okay, yeah so in early 2020 the world went mad and all the principles of public health were thrown out the window.

And as the public health scientist, I was in shock.

And I tried to publish here in the US,

but it was very difficult during the spring and summer of 2020.

I had no problems publishing in my native Sweden in the major

newspapers there, but here I couldn't get my voice heard because I think it was important to tell

people that, well, anybody can get infected, there's more

than a thousandful difference in the risk between the old and the young.

So the obvious thing is to do as much as we can to protect all the people because they are

high risk while letting kids go to school.

So, but anybody who tried to speak out was sort of dismissed somehow.

Either they were only one person or they didn't have the right expertise or whatever.

So I got together with Dr J. Borasharia from Stanford University and Dr.

Schneider Gupta from Oxford University, who is the preeminent infectious disease

and biologists in the world. And we wrote the one page great brighter declaration,

arguing for focus protection. We need to do more to protect older people and we should let kids go to school
