Welcome back everyone to the Epic Gardening Podcast. Today, this is our second in-person

taping because we have Chris, my assistant, who I hired way back in, I think March of

last year, something like that. So Chris came to gardening within the

compounds of the pandemic like a lot of people did. So I figured we would have her

on to talk about how she got into everything. So welcome Chris. Hi, thanks for

having me. So when we first met, you had been gardening for how long? About a month.

Okay, and you, how did you kind of come to it? So I had a job in the corporate

world and I had gotten laid off like a lot of people. I was in events and events

obviously weren't a thing during the pandemic. And I was pretty bummed because I

really love my job. And I was watching a bunch of YouTube videos and I actually

came across your YouTube video and how to grow ginger. And I was famous. And it

was so easy. And I thought, God, I can, I think I can probably do that. And I

had had a really bad luck. Like I had killed an aloe plant twice, which is really

hard to do. And so I watched your ginger video and I started growing it and it

sprouted. And then I was like, Oh, that's kind of cool. And then I started with

like basically tomatoes and that type of stuff. And now a year and a half later, I've

got the whole front yard as a food forest. I've got the whole backyard as a food

forest. We have backyard chickens. It's been a quite a journey. Yeah, because it's

been a year and a half since since then. Yeah. So how did you, how did you start

out like, did you start out with just a raised bed or what did you get going with?

I started out with the little kind of wood block raised bids. And I started out with

plant or block one. Yeah. And I started out with two of those. They were pretty easy
