Summary

I recap my five-night Alaska cruise on the Disney Cruise Line's Disney Magic, highlighting Vancouver sightseeing, onboard experiences like Glacier Viewing Day and Frozen-themed activities, and a relaxed food-and-drink crawl in Ketchikan. I also compare the Magic and Wonder ships, praising Magic's shows and waterslide while giving Wonder the edge in service and food.

Today, let's talk about my Alaskan cruise last week on The Magic. That's coming up on this, episode 515 ofair Prep to Go We Talk Strategy and Ideas for people planning their Disney trips.

0:30.2

I'm your host, Shannon Albert from wDW PrepSchool.com. Thank you for being here for episode 515.

0:35.2

I am recording this in between an Alaskan cruise last week and headed to Disney World.

0:42.5

So as soon as I get done, hitting published on this, I will be packing because I have a 3 a.m.

0:47.5

alarm to head to Florida for eight days. So you will get those updates. After you get this episode,

0:53.1

you'll get those daily updates like you always do

0:55.6

during my trips. But I wanted to take some time today to recap it before I move on to the Disney

1:01.3

World stuff because Lord knows there's a lot going on in Florida. And I wanted to give this the

1:05.8

time that it deserves. Before I jump into that, a reminder to follow on social media. And if you want to be a

1:11.8

trip report guest, there's only one way to do that, and that is to leave a speakpipe voicemail,

1:15.9

where you leave the details of your trip. And if it works out on the schedule, then somebody on

1:20.0

my team will reach out to you and get your pre-chip and post-trip scheduled so that we can

1:24.6

chat about it. We don't accept anything via email, DM, et cetera.

1:30.4

All right, that's my usual administrative stuff. So let's dive into the actual trip last week.

1:39.0

So if you've been around for a few years, you may remember that I want on an Alaskan cruise in May of

1:44.6

23. And it was one of my favorite trips of all time. When I was younger, I used to say, I can't imagine

1:52.2

paying money to be cold. And now I want to pay money to be cold because I live in such a hot,

1:58.6

hot place. But also, the beauty is so hard to match. Like,

2:02.7

you are just surrounded by it the whole time. When you do Caribbean cruises, you're out in the

2:07.5

open ocean a lot without a view for a lot of it, unless it's a port day. But Alaskan cruises are

2:13.8

totally different because you get views, no matter which side of the ship you're on

2:18.2

the whole time. And it is so beautiful. It's just crisp and clean and gorgeous. And so it just
