he would play a YouTube video for all of his producers and other collaborators that came into a studio.

Produced by the channel Every Frame a Painting, the video is titled Akira Kurosawa, composing movement, and analyzes

how influential Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa uses visual movement to heighten the emotional resonance of his films.

A Kurosawa film moves like no one else's.

Each one is a master class in different types of motion and also ways to combine them. The video essay goes on to show how

techniques like camera movement, editing, character movement, and natural

elements like rain and wind are all expertly used to enhance scenes and help tell the story visually.

Denzel showed this video to his collaborators because he wanted to capture that same kind of

cinematic movement in his album. But the question is how the video essay shows how movement is

captured visually. How does one capture movement sonically with sound alone?
