And once again, we could not do the show without the help of some wonderful folks sponsoring us. | 0:36.9 | That's when you need to know if your horse has a smushy nose or not. Smushy nose? Yeah, you know, like if you go to the top of the nostril and you go a couple finger wists up and you kind of push on it a little bit, just test your horses. I'm telling you, some of them have smushy or noses than others. Is that the technical term, the smushiness? It is. I taught that at a clinic. The smushy. How you know if your horse has a smushy nose. Please. But if they have that extra, if they have all that extra skin or that skin is looser down by their nostrils, then they're way more likely to collapse. Well, technically what it does to help the horse breathe easier, the spring-like oxygen and flare strips supports the soft tissue over the nasal passages to reduce the tissue collapses that occurs in all horses during exercise to make it easier for the horse to breathe oxygen. That's right. The smushiness. The smushiness. That's right. You have to know if your horse has a smushy nose, you need a flare strip. Flares strips are pretty amazing. They can reduce fatigue. Horses tend to not tire as easily and can work longer and harder. They can serve energy. Horses wearing flare strips have been shown to use 5 to 6% less energy during intensive exercise or performance. |
| 1:46.0 | Horses recover faster, supporting the nasal passages during recovery helps horses cool out more quickly. |
| 1:51.7 | And the big one, it protects them from exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhageing, EIPH, or bleeding. |
| 1:57.4 | Well, just remember, your body has to have a lot of oxygen to live, including horses. |
