Summary
Howdy!
This episode is with Dr. Jim Chiapetta. Dr. Chiapetta is both a veterinarian AND an attorney. He’s dabbled in many things in the medical field, both in humans and horses. He is one of the creators and principles of Flair Equine Nasal Strips. In this conversation, amongst other things, we go DEEP into the science of respiratory wellness. We discuss Exercise Induced Pulmonary Hemorrhaging (EIPH or “Bleeding”), the factors the cause it, and preventative measures taken to help alleviate this issue that ALL performance horses will likely deal with at some point in their life and performance careers. This one was interesting and has many great nuggets of information in it that you may need to listen to more than once to get. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as we enjoyed talking to him! Thanks for hanging out with us!

| 0:00.0 | What's up Married with Horses listeners? |
| 0:04.1 | Before we get started, I want to talk a little bit about our summer internship position and give a little update on that. |
| 0:10.4 | A couple of days ago, we put out a post on Instagram and Facebook regarding an opportunity for a summer intern. |
| 0:17.9 | This is the first intern that Jackie's ever had, the first intern that I've ever had, not at the construction company, but the first intern, you know, outside of that that we've ever had. And I wasn't really sure how to gauge the response. And since we've put it out, we've literally, blah, blah, blah, sorry, my mouth is not working, Literally had hundreds of applicants. So we've been sifting |
| 0:40.2 | through these and there's so many amazing people, so many amazing stories, so many qualified |
| 0:46.7 | folks, literally dozens and dozens of people that I think would do great. However, we're only |
| 0:51.5 | looking for one. We only have space for one, but this is something that |
| 0:54.5 | will likely do for the foreseeable future, at least in our estimation at this point. So we'll have |
| 1:01.5 | one this year, maybe another one next year. I'm not sure how it's going to look between summers |
| 1:05.5 | and all that. But for now, we're sifting through all the applications. I haven't had a chance to get back with everybody. |
| 1:13.0 | Just Jackie and I are, you know, I'm basically sifting them and taking the hundreds and getting them down to 50 or 60 and getting them over to Jackie who's trying to narrow them down to 10 or 15. |
| 1:22.9 | So then we can finally get together and narrow them down to, you know, five or ten to get back with you folks |
| 1:27.8 | soon to set up some interviews and some talks. So if you have applied for that or you've |
| 1:35.0 | sent us over information, we will hopefully be getting back to you soon or putting out some more |
| 1:40.0 | information in the very near future. Thank you so much for all your interest in that, and we'll |
| 1:45.0 | have an update very soon with that. Jackie and I are very excited to announce a partnership with |
| 1:51.0 | CAM CBD. CAM, that's K-A-H-M-CbD.com, is a place you can go for all of your equine pet and |
| 2:00.1 | human CBD needs. |
| 2:02.1 | It's a wonderful company that has third-party testing across the board. |
| 2:06.3 | Everybody knows what CBDs are these days. |
| 2:08.6 | If you don't, go back and listen to our episode where we talked with Samantha Oates from CAMC CBD |
| 2:13.3 | about all things CBD and what it does, where we discuss the phytocannabinoids and the endocannabinoid system |
