Summary

Howdy! Our second episode recorded from the 2018 BFA World Championships is with Shawn and Casey Varpness. This barrel racing couple, from Rochester, Minnesota, both train and ride horses as well as produce some of the largest barrel racing events in the Midwest. Their barrel racing production company, SC Productions LLC, produces barrel races and futurities in Minnesota. They’ve been doing this for last several years now and have produced really good sized races that have included qualifiers for The American and aged events. They’ve produced races in conjunction with the Northern Region Futurity Tour (NRF Tour), BBR, Future Fortunes, Select Stallion Incentive, and others. 0:26.8	Sean and Casey both produced. They're both barrel racers themselves and they both produce barrel racers in Minnesota.

0:47.3	understand what goes into putting on a show and hosting things and things like that.
0:52.9	And so we want to explore all avenues of barrel racing.

1:00.5	That's one of our, you know, we have a list of the, of the people that we're going to have

1:04.3	We're going to have some other producers on because we do find it really interesting.
1:06.6	There's so much that goes into it.
1:08.6	Well, and I think maybe sometimes we as barrel racers get wrapped up in what we need right that second.
1:17.0	Or what we need for our horse or what we need, what we need.
1:20.6	And sometimes you don't realize how much work and effort it goes into putting on these big shows and stuff like that.
1:25.3	And, you know, I always think that it's good to look at everything sometimes from the flip
1:31.7	side.
1:32.2	Yeah.
1:32.8	And Sean and Casey are uniquely qualified because they're both barrel racers.
