Hello, once again, my friends. Welcome back, Kerry Greene here. I hope you're ready to get

your mind aligned with the truth of God. This is our opportunity today to get ourselves

on track for this day. Don't look beyond today. Just get ready for what's coming for the

Lord's work in your life and through you today. And we do that by getting our minds aligned

with His truth. This series in particular is about that. This is our mind-war series teaching

us how to take God's truth from the scripture and to bank on it, to rely on it in ways that

help us with the very real struggles that we have in our minds as we go through each day.

Today, I want to focus on something that we all experience and that is the temptations

of life. Do you need to overcome temptation? Do you need to know how to do that? Now, there

are many truths we could go to in scripture that could help us in this area that can

remind us both what God has done for us and who we are as His people. But today, I want

to look at 1 Peter chapter 2, verse number 24, 1 Peter 2, 24. It says, He Himself bore

our sins in His body on the tree. It means on the cross. That, so here's the reason He

did that, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds, you have

been healed. So friends, when we are battling temptation, we are battling against the power

of sin itself. We are battling the power of our sin itself and the corruption that

it has been able to work in our lives over the years. A truth like this reminds us of two

things. First of all, it reminds us Jesus has done what is necessary to overcome that

temptation. Look what it says, He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross. Jesus

hung by nails from a wooden cross and blood and suffered and died to nail our sin to

that cross. You see, the work has been done to kill and conquer that sin and it was done

by someone else on our behalf. That's someone else is the God of the universe, Jesus Christ.
