Time now for Jeff Merrick's random hockey fact of the day.

So we, um... of the act of the day.

So we spend a good portion of the first hour talking about the Winnipeg Jets and their

situation on and off the ice.

On, off the ice, and in the stands.

Where they're having a certain attendance issue.

This will come up with Greg Waczynski

from ESPAN in a couple of moments.

So I thought maybe to kick off hour or two.

We talk about the greatest Winnipeg jet of them all, the Great Dale Howard Chuck.

So here's something interesting about Dale Howard Chuck growing up.

Like many kids, around the world, grew up dreaming of playing in the NHL and winning the Stanley

Cup and would shoot Pucks relentlessly often in his driveway but Howard Chuck had a very specific way

of shooting pucks. Howard Chuck just wouldn't stand there and blast away on his

shooting pad.

Del Howard Chuck would shoot Pucks blindfolded.

And I'll get to his Barry Colts here in a couple of seconds.

He would shoot Pucks blindfold and he would just look at the

net, put on a blindfold and start firing away, knowing that in the NHL, you don't get a

chance to have a clean look for very long.

And he would tell you that he honed his other senses

to the point where he could tell the difference
