0:24.5	cry. Recommended for ages 5 to 105. I'm Kim and I love stories. Well, hello, super great kids. And how are you this week? If you're in the north,
0:41.8	it's probably a little bit chilly. And if you're in the south, it's probably a tad too warm.
0:49.0	Our current theme is fairy tales from around the world, and today we've got a fairy tale for you from the equator,
0:57.9	which is another way of saying the middle of the world.
1:01.9	It's from sunny Kenya in East Africa, and it's told by Wangari the storyteller.
1:09.1	It's about a hairy one-eyed ogre
1:11.6	and it's a teeny bit scary but not fairy.
1:15.6	I'm very pleased to be able to tell you
1:17.6	that the ending, as in most fairy tales, is a happy one.
1:22.6	Just before Wangari starts the story,
1:25.6	do you have a favourite season? My youngest son really
1:30.5	likes winter. He likes the cold and the frost and skating and living in snowy places. Just imagine.
1:39.2	So, he likes wintry tales too. Hands up if you're a winter person.
1:45.0	Are you?
1:46.0	Oh, good.
1:47.0	And can you think of a wintry tale to go with your favourite season?
1:52.0	Maybe you like white evergreens keep their leaves in winter?
1:56.0	Or a white bear for a king from Norway?
1:59.0	Or the Slavic story, strawberries in winter.
2:03.7	Or maybe your favourite season is summer.
