Elon Musk and President Donald Trump defended their moves to overhaul the federal government,

at a joint Q&A in the Oval Office yesterday.

Trump watched from his seat at the Resolute desk as Musk stood a few feet away with his four-year-old son, Axe.

Musk denied that his business dealings with the government amount to conflicts of interest,

and brushed off comments about the authorities he's using at the Department of Government efficiency to gut entire agencies.

And Trump pushed back on what judges are doing across the country to block some of their plans.

I mean, how can you have a country? You can't have anything that way. You can't have a business

that way. You can't have a country that way.

According to AIDS, yesterday's appearance was also an effort to show that Musk is working at

the president's direction, not as a rogue operator

inside the government.

New US Defense Secretary Pete Hegsepp has his first in-person meeting with European

counterparts today to talk about Ukraine.

He'll discuss the ongoing war, and he's expected to push for a shift in responsibility for Ukrainian

and European security away from the US and towards NATO and the EU.
