This week Katie is joined by Bethany Cosentino who is a song writer and lead singer of Best Coast. Bethany shares the contrast of tour life vs spending a year at home connecting with herself. She’s discusses mental health, how therapy has become her greatest tool and of course song writing was a form of therapy. Bethany being a female art for over 10 years has a lot to say about the sexism in the industry and how it has affect her, from reading reviews, performing on stage and how she has reclaimed her authenticity and learned to not give a fuck what people think. She also share some of her favorite tour memories that include touring with Paramore and opening for Green Day. Bethany is a rockstar with a power house voice and you are just going to love her!!!

1:09.4	But it's okay. It's okay. Because after this episode, I think you're gonna be obsessed with Bethany and want to

1:20.4	describe or just let everyone know what you can expect from Beth's best coast?
1:25.2	Whenever people ask me what it is, I always just sort of say like pop rock because I feel like in my bones,
1:30.5	I just want it to be sort of like a poppy rock band. Yeah. But over the years, it's been described as many things.
1:36.9	It's Indy Rock, Low Fy. We've been called Punk before. I mean, just sort of like, I guess whatever that someone decides.
1:46.7	But I like to think of us as sort of like a pop rock band. And it's me. And then I have a bandmate named Bob Bruno.
1:53.2	And we've been together since 2009, which is insane. Wow.
1:58.8	And we've put out four records. And we've been doing this for like, yeah, a decade. And it's crazy that I'm still doing it.
2:08.8	And that's amazing though. That's like a relationship or like a marriage in a lot of places.
2:12.9	Your album that came out right before all this quarantine and pandemic hit. It's called Always Tomorrow.
2:20.5	And I think it's amazing. And the song that we did the music video for,
2:24.8	what's everything has changed, which is like one of the most catchy songs I listened to earlier today.
