I have an interesting topic lined up for you this week, and it's one you might not immediately think about when you consider a pediatric podcast.

We're not going to talk about specific disease process or infant development or any of those kind of things or the latest treatment for a disease.

Yet, you know, it's a topic we take pretty seriously at nationwide children's because we care

about sick kids feeling better and we care about helping young patients and families cope

with the stress of a hospital stay.

Music therapy is our topic at hand.

I touched base on this one last year, episode 279, to be exact. It was back in February 2014. It was in the course of a

news parents can use episode, and we talked about a hospital-based music therapy program that was

using songwriting and video production to help sick kids cope on the cancer floor. And we talked about

ways you could use those concepts in your own home and at schools

to help kids cope with all sorts of stress because research shows it works.
