Summary

Important Update: Imagineer Podcast will be known as Imagination Skyway starting with our next podcast episode. Learn more at imaginationskyway.com. Disney Renaissance films include The Little Mermaid, The Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, and Tarzan. They span a range of just 10 years but include some of the most beloved films of all time. Arguably, the music is perhaps the most memorable aspect of these Disney Renaissance films, and collectively, the music has produced 30 million album sales including 5 multi-platinum albums and even a diamond album. These films have also won 5 Academy Awards for Best Score, 6 Academy Awards for Best Song, and even a Grammy for Song of the Year. These Disney films are loved by so many Disney fans, and in this two-part podcast episode, we dive deep into the music. In Part 1 of the Music of the Disney Renaissance series, we discuss the history of this period of time and the definition of the Disney Renaissance. We then dive deep into the music of The Little Mermaid, The Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin, discussing why we believe these soundtracks are so beloved and memorable. In Part 2, we have the same conversations about the music of The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan and Tarzan. We close out Part 2 with a recap of the music of the Disney Renaissance.  What are your favorite songs from the Disney movies we discussed in this episode? Hey, friends, before we head into today's episode, I wanted to give you a quick update.

You might have noticed the logo of the podcast has changed and the name of the podcast has

0:09.1

changed here on your favorite podcast app and on social media.

0:13.2

That's because going forward, Imagine Your Podcast is going to be known as Imagination Skyway.

0:19.0

The transition has already taken place. Imagineyourpodcast.com will redirect

0:23.9

you to our new website, which is imagination skyway.com. I wanted to let you know first and

0:29.6

foremost, this is simply a rebranding. We're simply changing the packaging of this podcast

0:35.1

community. The quality that you have come to enjoy over the last six years

0:40.1

of this show, the subject matter that we cover, and everything else is going to remain the same.

0:46.4

In fact, I am more than committed than ever to making sure that this experience continues

0:50.9

to improve for you. I'm looking forward to bringing on even better guests,

0:56.2

better episode topics, and so much more. The name change is a reflection of the progress that

1:03.0

this show has made. I started this podcast in 2017 as a hobby to discuss my love of all

1:08.7

things Disney and Imagineering. But as you know, by listening to the show, including this episode, we have expanded

1:14.4

well beyond Imagineering.

1:16.3

And I wanted to identify a name and create a name that reflected the direction that the podcast

1:22.2

has taken and the direction that we can move forward together in the future.

1:27.0

I do believe it's going to unlock

1:28.8

new doors for this podcast and for this community. It has been an emotional journey for me.

1:34.7

Imagine your podcast is a work of love. So changing the name of the show is not one that I took

1:40.6

for granted and is a result of two years of brainstorming and reflection.

1:46.5

So certainly not an impulsive decision, but one that I had been working on and keeping behind
