Hi everybody, we're coming to you today from 11th Street Studios in Las Vegas and I have

my special guest, Felina Carter. Hello. Singer songwriter extraordinaire. I'm actually

playing with Felina this week. We're doing a gig over at Area 15, right? Area 15.

Yeah, so that's exciting. And this is actually studio we rehearsed at a couple of days ago.

And I'm like, what a cool place, as you can see, and you're not even seeing the whole thing,

but it's such a cool place. Cool place. So Felina Carter, where are you from originally?

Originally I'm from Oklahoma, the middle of nowhere. Oklahoma, cool. Yeah, but I moved out here

when I was 18. Awesome. What made you come out to Vegas?

So long story. I followed a relationship and then I ended up getting stuck here because it is

good for music business. Yeah, a lot of people stuck in Vegas is not an uncommon thing. Yeah, yeah.

Stuck is definitely the word. So have you always been a songwriter? How did you get into doing that?

I was in creative writing when I was a little kid, but I was always self-conscious. I was too

self-conscious to show people anything. And then I started picking up instruments. So I started

on keyboard. And then ukulele. And now I write songs for the last maybe 10 years.

Cool. Yeah, ukulele has been like super, it seems like in the last few years been like super

popular. Yeah, it's so easy. I learned on YouTube. Awesome. What made you start playing ukulele?

What was your, was it like that's a cool instrument, small, it's portable? Not even. So I went through

this pretty crazy breakup. And right before I went through the breakup, this woman gifted me

a ukulele. It was just a little junker ukulele. I still have it today. And then she ran off with

my boyfriend. So I felt like I had, I felt like I had to write a song on it. And I just kind of
