And in the instance the New York Times is reporting it's not just math and reading US history scores for eighth graders have plunged.

And it's not just the pandemic.

About 40% of eighth graders scored below basic in US history last year and basic is low.

A significantly lower than ever before just 13% of eighth graders were considered proficient.

New York Times in way that yeah part of it was the pandemic.

But part of it was that teaching history has become somewhat controversial in around America.
