Hi, Atlas Obscura, calling to tell you about my wonderful experiences at the Museum

of Minerals and Crystals in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.

I stumbled upon this place one time.

I was driving past and I saw it and I just did a U-turn and immediately pulled in and

had to go inside.

It's this weird little building, half of it is a gift shop, half of it is the museum.

So it's a wonderful collection of fossils and minerals, crystals, gemstones.

It's such a charming, wonderful place.

I try to take people there as often as I can.

It's across the street from Governor Dodge State Park and I guess you can also rent horse

to ride from this place.

Just charming, weird, wonderful experience.
