Welcome to Obscira, where we shine a light on the dark. While investigators stayed at the house to carefully pick through the debris and determine the cause of the fire,

police arranged for a stunned Deborah and a shocked and distressed Michael and Kate to be questioned separately.

According to the Salina Journal, even though Deborah and Kate were in the backseat of the same police car, they didn't console each other or even speak. It wasn't until later that morning,

after the dawn had broken when the home was considered structurally safe to search, that the bodies of Tim and Kelly were recovered.

Kelly was found lying in her bed, curled up, and appeared to be asleep.

She had died of smoke inhalation, even though the door to her bedroom was closed.

The body of Boomer, one of the family dogs, was also found underneath Kelly's bed.

It initially appeared that Tim had made it out of the bedroom.

Well always thought that Tim had almost managed to escape.
