| 1:21.0 | Kante was their first child, but the young couple embraced parenthood. |
| 1:26.0 | Nikisha lived with her grandmother, and she helped take care of Kante while Tone worked, and Nikisha went to school. |
| 1:34.0 | But Tone and Nikisha's relationship, like a lot of young couples, eventually ended. |
| 1:39.0 | And after their breakup, Nikisha decided to go to college, |
| 1:43.0 | and so she applied to some schools, and she was eventually accepted to a school in Atlanta. |
| 1:50.0 | Nikisha knew that attending school in a different state with a young child would be challenging, |
| 1:55.0 | and so she made the difficult decision to leave Kante in Newberg with her grandmother. |
| 2:03.0 | Mary, Nikisha's grandmother, had been a huge part of Kante's life from the day that she was born. |
| 2:09.0 | So, Nikisha knew that Kante wasn't good hands. |
| 2:14.0 | But the city of Newberg had always been a tough place to live. |
