And the story I have for you today is about a young woman who was found murdered in her best

friend's apartment, and the search for a man investigator's thought took her life.

Until an unexpected discovery led them to uncover a twisted plan that left a trail of tragedy

in its wake.

This is the story of Julie Kibouishi and Sam Hare.

It's the evening of Saturday, May 22nd.

The story is about a man named Steve Hare is getting worried because he can't get

a hold of his son, Sam.

The 26-year-old was supposed to come over to his parents' house for dinner that night,

but he just never showed.

And call after call is going unanswered, which just isn't sitting right with Steve.

This isn't like his son.

Steve decides to just drive over to Sam's apartment to make sure he's okay.

Like, they both live in the same town of Costa Mesa, California, so it's not long before

Steve is right there knocking on Sam's door.

When he doesn't get an answer there either, he decides enough is enough, and he uses the

spare key that Sam gave him to get inside, which I think is super nice as a dad.

I imagine if Josie's not answering her phone and I have a spare key, I'm not even knocking.

So, you know, he's at least trying to respect some boundaries.
