A devastating residential fire over the weekend in New York City claimed 19 lives, including

nine children.

Coming on the heels of a similar deadly blaze in Philadelphia public housing that killed

four adults and eight children, this tragedy highlights the complete inability of the

capitalist system to provide safe, dignified housing for workers.

We need a new system. We need a new society. We need to demand that which may have sounded

impossible even a few weeks ago, but is not only realizable, but an imperative necessity.
