Summary

This case actually involves several cases of accidental death and murder. Savannah explores the legacy of the famous (and often infamous) Murdaugh family and the many tragedies that have surrounded them. Savannah starts with the most recent incident on June 7, 2021 where Maggie and her son Paul Murdaugh were found shot to death near their hunting lodge in South Carolina, and backtracks to a boat accident that killed teenager Mallory Beach, and that many believe let Andrew Murdaugh off the hook for his reckless behavior. 0:52.7	and there are a lot of theories about what led us to this point and what led this family to this
0:59.6	tragedy. So with that being said, let's jump right on into it today. Now to understand this case
1:06.8	and to really get into it, we need to understand who the Murdoff family was and is. The Murdoff
1:14.7	family is a very, very prominent and well-known family who live in Colton County, South Carolina.
1:22.0	Colton County has a population of about 40,000 people and the Murdoffs are a family name that almost
1:28.8	everyone in that county knows. The Murdoff family that we're going to be talking about today consists
1:35.2	of husband and wife Alex and Maggie Murdoff, Maggie being 52 years old as well as their two sons
1:42.2	Paul and Buster. Paul was 22 years old and Buster is 25 years old. Maggie and Alex met while
1:50.0	Maggie was attending the University of South Carolina and she is described as being a bubbly woman
1:56.9	who definitely enjoyed the finer things in life but she was always willing to help others.
