Summary

I am so excited to welcome back the incredible Kate Casey to Juicy Crimes for a deep dive into two cases that absolutely captivated the nation. First, we’re heading back to 1975 to the posh gates of Greenwich, Connecticut, to revisit the Martha Moxley murder. We get into all the "juicy" details involving the Skakel family, the Kennedy connection, and the decades of privilege that kept that case a mystery for so long. Then, we pivot to Washington D.C. to break down the disappearance of Chandra Levy. Kate and I talk about the media circus surrounding Congressman Gary Condit, the tragic discovery in Rock Creek Park, and how a political scandal shifted the trajectory of a murder investigation. It’s an episode full of power, prestige, and the dark side of high society you don't want to miss it! -Refresh your everyday with luxury you'll actually use. Hello and welcome to Juicy Crimes. I have the one, the only Kate Casey with reality life from

0:14.5

Kate Casey, but she's also very knowledgeable of many crimes. And she did an incredible interview recently about one of these crimes

0:23.9

that I have followed over the years, the horrible tragedy of the murder of a young girl, Martha

0:29.8

Moxley, and this involves the Kennedy's, a very long cold case. Why don't you kind of tell us why it's always fascinated you and kind of

0:40.7

introduce us to the players of this? So I grew up in suburban Philadelphia. This was a huge story in

0:45.8

the Northeast. Although it happened long before I was born, there was a book that came out called

0:51.5

A Season in Purgatory written by Dominic Dunn, who was at one time a director and a producer who then became Vanity Fair's probably most famous author.

1:01.9

And he would cover a lot of true crime cases, including the O.J. Simpson case and the Chandra Levy case, which we will discuss in a moment.

1:08.3

But he covered a lot of this, this Skakel trial. So the story

1:13.6

is centered around Martha Moxley. So on October 30th, 1975, Martha Moxley, who was a 15-year-old

1:21.5

sophomore in high school in Greenwich, Connecticut, was bludgeoned to death. She had been seen

1:27.0

earlier that evening.

1:28.3

It was mischief night, which for those that are unfamiliar with mischief night, it's a thing in

1:33.2

the northeast where you go around a neighborhood and you throw toilet paper in people's trees,

1:38.0

you put shaving cream on people's mailboxes. So it would be typical to have a neighborhood

1:43.6

with a lot of kids kind of wandering,

1:45.8

weaving through different backyards and around.

1:48.2

Let me ask you, what was the date again?

1:49.7

Was it summer?

1:50.4

No, it's October 30th.

1:52.2

So it's the day before Halloween.

1:54.9

So it's like these two great great nights if you're a kid in the Northeast.
