Patricia Lang was 36 years old when she took a job in Des Moines, Iowa, to be closer to her family.

She was relocating there from Denver and needed a place to stay until our new apartment was ready.

So, in August of 1993, she booked her room for a week at the Holiday Inn in West Des Moines.
