We're keeping a really close eye on a developing story that happened in Kansas City at an O'Reilly Auto Parts store in Kansas City, Kansas on Tuesday night.

This is one of those stories that you've seen a few times across the country

that have played out, but now it touches really close to home. And this one appears to be

a little bit different than others. And all I'm saying, I'm just putting a little yellow

flag up on this one. I've got a little warning flag up because I'm not exactly sure.

We know everything that's going

on or where this is going to go. Here's what happened on Tuesday night at 47th and parallel in

KCK at the O'Reilly Auto Parts store. Two young men came into the store and apparently started stealing

stuff, auto fluids, break fluid, whatever it may be. They were stealing things and they were told to stop

by the manager, a man named Carl Campanan. And Mr. Campan said he said several times to stop

and the thieves then grabbed the stuff, walked out the door. He followed them outside and

told them to drop the merchandise. And an altercation ensued then outside the store.

And this is probably where the legal ramifications come in, is that the manager followed

them outside the store to stop them from taking the products. A fight ensued,

and apparently Carl Kampinen can really defend himself. There were no weapons involved in this whatsoever, none, apparently on any persons,

or at least that's what we're told at this point by authorities in Wyandotte County.

Mr. Campan, the manager of the store, then got into this physical alteration with both of these thieves,

alleged thieves, and one of them

died, a young man, a 23-year-old named Diamond Steen. Authorities on the scene said, this is not an

autopsy, said they believed that Steen was strangled, that strangulation was the cause of death.
