Summary

Bethany Correira, a 21-year-old pre-med student, vanished from her Anchorage apartment in May 2003 after going to meet building manager Mike Lawson about a part-time job. Her phone, keys, and purse were left behind; an empty duplex next door burned same day. Investigators flagged Lawson’s shifting story and cell-tower pings. His brother Bob later confessed they dumped Bethany’s body off the Parks Highway and torched the duplex to hide evidence. Bethany’s remains were recovered a year later. A recorded call captured Lawson admitting the killing. A jury convicted him of murder, and he was sentenced to 99 years...
