We had you on the pod as a guest back in November, Paula, and you told us the story of Brian Padda,

the former Miami Hurricane football player who was shot and killed in front of his apartment back in 2006.

The case remained famously without an arrest for 15 years. And then last week.

We begin with reaction to a break in the case of a high profile homicide of a UM star football player.

15 years after Brian Patton was shot and killed outside his apartment. Authorities have arrested his former teammate for that crime.

What was your reaction when you heard the news?

I was shocked. I really did not think that this day would ever come.

When we left this story last fall, many of the officers who initially

were working on it were gone. They had assigned someone new, but it just really wasn't clear

that there was going to be a lot of progress made, especially with the pandemic still happening.

And so when we heard that there was an arrest being made,

I was just floored. I was really floored. I really did not think that this day would come

if it came this fast. That said, there is still a lot to happen. This is not the final chapter.

And I'm really expecting some pretty interesting

information to come out, we hope, in the next few weeks. All right, Paula. So I want to play our

episode first from back in November because you tell the story of who Brian Paddle was,

you talk about the circumstances of his murder, you explain the details of the investigation up until this current point.
