Summary

This week on the Active Self Protection Podcast we sit down with self-defender Joshua Bennett and discuss the day he and his paramedic wife were out for a pleasant walk at a local park when the quiet was interrupted by gunfire and how they avoided the gunman and attempted to lend aid to the victim. Then we sit down with investigative reporter Stephen Gutowski of thereload.com and break down the likely motives behind California Governor Gavin Newsomes campaign to amend the U.S. Constitution to curb the Second Amendment and restrict gun rights.

Active Self Protection exists to help good, sane, sober, moral, prudent people in all walks of life to more effectively protect themselves and their loved ones from criminal violence. On the ASP Podcast you will hear the true stories of life or death self defense encounters from the men and women that lived them. If you are interested in the Second Amendment, self defense and defensive firearms use, martial arts or the use of less lethal tools used in the real world to defend life and family, you will find this show riveting.  Join host and career federal agent Mike Willever as he talks to real life survivors and hear their stories in depth. You'll hear about these incidents and the self defenders from well before the encounter occurred on through the legal and emotional aftermath. Music: bensound.com

We love everything about them. We love the efficacy of their product. We've seen it work. Our actual employees have had to use it in the field against a crazy person and it worked. They've removed any excuse not to carry OC. This is going to solve far more problems more frequently than a firearm and I wouldn't leave the house without it. stories or referring people, there's no show. So thank you so much for doing that. I mentioned at the top, Josh, whether you are a data scientist, and I know what data is,

1:32.4

and I know generally what scientists are. What is data science and what does a data scientist do exactly?

1:39.1

I like to think of myself as kind of a gold miner of sorts. I take all of the raw data. It can be numbers. It can be text. It can be all kinds of different things. And I sort it and organize it, do math, and try to inform the company's strategic and tactical objectives based on what I'm seeing in the data.

2:04.3

That's pretty straightforward, actually. That makes sense. Although, not a big math guy. Math is hard

2:08.8

for me, so I avoid it wherever possible. So you were referred over by someone who's a mutual friend of John,
