Now, during our last episode, we peeled back the layers of the Murdoch dynasty,

a family once seen as part of society's upper echelon, certainly in South Carolina. But the Murdoch

legacy was about to implode as 22-year-old Paul Murdoch awaited trial for his role in a fatal

boat crash that killed Mallory Beach. He and his mother Maggie were found

savagely gunned down on the family estate. Then came the twist. No one saw this coming.

Alec Murdoch, the powerful family patriarch, was arrested not only for decades of fraud,

but for the co-blooded murder of his own wife and son. But the fight for law enforcement to put

Murdoch behind bars was nowhere near over.

There was real concern leading up to Alec Murdoch's trial that his family's influence

in the low country could sway the jury.
