South Carolina's Supreme Court overturned Alex Murdoch's murder conviction Wednesday.

The court ruled unanimously that former Colleton County Clerk of Court Rebecca Hill exercised, quote, improper external influences

during Murdoch's 23 trial.

One juror said Hill told him, quote, not to be fooled by the evidence Murdoch's defense presented.

She later published a tell-all book about the case.

Once a prominent South Carolina attorney, Murdoch was convicted in 2023 of fatally shooting

his wife and 22-year-old son at the family's low country estate in June 2021.

He'll remain jailed serving a 40-year federal sentence for stealing around $12 million from clients
