Indiana roads are getting safer.

Thanks to Indiana's safe zones program,

the hardworking men and women doing construction on Indiana's roads can work more safely.

And you're safer too.

Speed is a major cause of highway fatalities.

And the Safe Zones program from the Indiana Department of Transportation keeps speed safer for workers,

safer for drivers, safer for you.

Safe zone signs are posted before you enter a construction zone,

letting you know you need to slow down.

And if you're caught traveling more than 11 miles per hour over the posted limit,

the first time you'll receive a warning.

The program has reduced the annual number of vehicles traveling over the limit by 10 million.

That's 10 million more vehicles driving safely in work zones.

Thank you to legislative leaders and industry partners for creating the Indiana Safe Zones program to keep Hoosiers safe.
