Hi, my name is Ruby, I'm an alcoholic.

I want to thank my sponsor for asking me to speak, it's an honor and a privilege to be

your last minute speaker on a Saturday night.

I didn't have anything to do anyways and as much as I, you know, when she asked me, I was

like, yeah, like what excuse can I come up with?

Like there's really no other place than I should be than a meeting of alcoholism,

anonymous on a Saturday night and it is nothing shy of a miracle and a privilege that

I am asked to speak at a meeting of alcoholics anonymous by my sponsor.

Housekeeping, like I said I'm an alcoholic, I have a sobriety date, it is April 3rd of

2014, so earlier this year I celebrated five years.

I have a sponsor, she knows she's my sponsor because she can't get rid of me but like

as a way to tell on myself I have not been meeting with her and calling her as regularly

as I should and besides that I have a home group, it's a tri-valley Friday nights in Pleasanton.

It's young people, I would really recommend checking it out if you'd like to go, we could

use your support and my life for the past five years has been constantly surrounded by

alcoholics anonymous and continues to stay that way.

And I ended up here at the age of 15 years old, I was like I'm not, you know I don't blame
