My name is Sid and I'm an alcoholic and I'm very happy and grateful today to be able

to say that I'm a sober alcoholic.

I'm also very happy and grateful to be able to say that many years ago I came to believe

that a power greater than myself could restore me to sanity and at that time I made a decision

to turn my will and my laugh over to the care of God as I understand Him.

Still struggling to do that every day but I made that decision and I'm working on it.

I'm also very happy and grateful to be able to say that on a daily basis I'm seeking

to improve my conscious contact with God as I understand Him today but I wasn't always

like that and I'm going to come back to that in a moment.

Our topic today is one ultimate authority and I want to try and stick to that topic.

I'm not just going to tell you about my laugh except as it relates to that topic.

One ultimate authority and this obviously comes from the second tradition who are group

purposes there's but one ultimate authority, a loving God as He may express Himself in

our group conscience.

Our leaders of our trusted servants I do not govern and I want to say now that I absolutely

believe that those early AA members, those guards that wrote the 12 steps wrote the big

book wrote those 12 traditions that they were inspired by this very same loving God
