I have never been to this meeting before I've heard it many times on the

podcast so I feel like I've been in this room but I didn't know what it looked

like my sobriety date is 1029-15 so I'm a little over two years.

I am very uncomfortable being the center of attention so I'm very nervous and very

uncomfortable but I'm going to share anyway and so what it was like was for me, I did not have a super dramatic and low bottom with lots of dramatic consequences and relationships,

run through the garbage and loss of health

and things like that. I grew up with my mom in the program. She got sober when I was in middle school and I remember what she was like when she was drinking and I remember and then I more remember her

transition into sobriety being maybe even more tumultuous. So I had a really early education.

I had other family members who were addicts

and abusers and in various stages of recovery.

So it was always this scary adult world thing to me of addiction and recovery.

And yet I still didn't really fear that it was going to happen to me, that it could happen to me.
