My name is Denise, I am known as Michelle and I am an alcoholic.

I remember when I first sat in this room like so long ago and I was like, I'm never

going to make it to be so over long enough to have to speak in front of all those people.

And here I am now, I'm like, shouldn't myself.

Well thank you guys all for coming out and if you have one day, if you have 27, the

amazing thing about this program is it's one day at a time so however much time you

have we're all in this together.

As far as where I was growing up, I came up from a very poor background.

I was very abused sexually, mentally, although those things by my mother and her boyfriends.

At the age of five years old I saw my sister get murdered and I was blamed for that because

I did not call 911.

And so I had a pretty broken relationship with my mother soon after that.

And so I grew up with the guilt of thinking that I basically, the three year old sister

was killed because of me.

And so growing up, I was stuck with school, I was super like a teacher's pet, I was totally

okay with that.
